Annalise’s Wellness Story

In 1999 Annalise realized that despite successes in the corporate world, she had very unconsciously crept into a life of total imbalance with work at the forefront, now taking a critical toll.  She was ’over the top’ stressed from 6 and 7 day work weeks,  12-15 hour days. She was exhausted most of the time, gaining a lot of weight, having sugar cravings, elevated blood pressure, trouble sleeping and often quite irritable.  She was alarmed by her physician’s admonishment for her to become concerned about her physical health. She hadn’t seen this coming and she “didn’t have time for it!” She lived in a beautiful home surrounded by nature but left in the morning before the sun rose and returned well after dark – with no energy and no time to enjoy or take advantage of her lovely surroundings.  Not only did her life feel totally out of whack, it was affecting all of her relationships, she had dropped the things that gave her joy, and she was on the path to increased health risks.

On her first vacation in years, a birthday trip to Santa Fe, she took along the book When Work Doesn’t Work Any More.  The light struck! She realized that if she didn’t make a change she would be in serious trouble. She was ready to take charge, to regain balance, bring back the things that gave her joy and real meaning in her life and to restore her health and energy! But she wasn’t sure where to begin.  She discovered coaching while taking what she thought was a workshop on re-evaluating personal finances. After more research and self-reflection, she hired a coach and began working with a personal trainer.  The shift was not immediate – it took place over time, both physically, mentally and emotionally. But what did shift right away was her willingness to change for the sake of her physical, personal and professional well being. She started out on a course pointed towards wellness and living consciously.

She embarked on a five year journey of discovery and exploration including coaching and leadership training, studies with indigenous, spiritual and complimentary alternative modality teachers in the US and South America to explore non-traditional and spiritual paths to opening and creating the life you want. Each step added to the foundation for a new life and a new way of living. Today, life still happens – but she has the tools in place to re-balance when necessary and to keep herself focused on what is fulfilling and meaningful to her along her well life journey!
